- Will all of my old topics have vanity urls automatically created?
- We will provide a script for those that wish to create vanity urls for topics created prior to Active Forums 4.3.
- What happens when a topic is moved to another forum with a different url?
- Topic will be assigned a new url to match the new forum and the previous url will be archived. The old url will be redirected using a 301 redirect to the new URL.
- What happens when the subject changed for the topic?
- A new url is assigned to the topic anytime the subject is altered. The prior URL will be archived and redirected to the new URL.
- What happens when the Vanity Name is changed for a forum group or forum?
- A new URL will be assigned and the previous URL. The previous URL will properly redirect to the new URL.
- What happens when the Vanity Name Path Prefixes are changed?
- Changing the Vanity Name Path Prefixes will break all existing urls. Active Forums will properly create new URLs, but any request to the old URLs will result in a 404 - file not found error.
