Originally ActiveForums 3.5 worked perfectly on DNN 3.2 and DNN 4.0.  Recently, the core released DNN 4.0.1 which introduced a breaking change to ActiveForums along with other modules.  This required creating a new install package for DNN 4.0.1.  I had originally planned on maintaining one codebase/install package as long as possible.  However, due to this change and others that I'm sure will happen in the future I will be maintaining two codebases.  This will also allow me to take advantage of some of the new features in ASP.NET 2.0.

I also would like to remind everyone that ActiveForums is licensed by DotNetNuke installation.  I kindly ask that you purchase an additional license for each installation of DotNetNuke.  Additional licenses are available at 50% off and can be purchased through Snowcovered.  We also offer discounts if you need more than five licenses.

How do you get ActiveForums for DNN 4?

    Option 1
If you are running more than one installation of DotNetNuke I suggest going to Snowcovered and purchasing and purchasing ActiveForums 3.5 for DNN4.  A discount for 50% off has already been setup for all those who have purchased ActiveForums 3.5 for DNN3.  This method will be the fastest and allow you to access the files on Snowcovered and ActiveModules.com

    Option 2
If you are only running one instance of DotNetNuke and only need the code for DNN 4 then you can request a license transfer.  This will be a manual process which means it will take 24-48 hours to process.  This will also only give you access to updates on ActiveModules.com.  Please email support@activemodules.com to request a license transfer.  Please be sure to include your user name and your Snowcovered order id.

    Thanks,
    Will
