I searched these forums a bit and see that since 2009, customers have been requesting the ability for some sort of tag that allows a user to simply post a yooutube video link and have it appear as a thumbnailed video as opposed to just the link.

Has any progress been made on this. I saw a post from Will some time ago claiming that it can be done with Filters, but no further explanation or example was given.

Any info s much appreciated, as this has become standard forum functionality. My users *EXPECT* it, since most forums offer this. It's a great way for people to share ideas, etc.. without me having to invest in huge amounts of disk.

There has not been a [YOUTUBE] button added, but as Will may have mentioned, it can be achieved with Filters.

It would be very similar to the hyperlink [url] filter, except it might use an embed tag instead of an 'a' tag.

I know there are other customers here who have acheived good functionality with youtube videos embedded in forum posts.
