Can we please get an inbuilt sitemap for ActiveForums? I would really like to index all topics in the forums/groups and submit them to the search engines.

I do not think there are any sitemap providers who accurately index all the topics of ActiveForums. This alone will help us so much with respect to SEO. This will also supplement the new url feature we are getting in AF 4.3.

Please please consider it. It would be great if you could give that to us in the next AF 4.3 release.

    Thank you.
I am using the latest AS/AF/DNN available.
    Thanks.

Can't make it into 4.3, but maybe 4.4.

Sweet! That would totally rock Will.

I have the SunBlogNuke sitemap provider installed and can confirm it really does make a huge difference to search engine discovery of new content.

Only suggestion I'd make is to have an option to limit the max number of entries that will be added to the sitemap.

    Hi guys,

I was able to create one using a custom provider / code samples from Ifinity site map provider. I was able to also generate this with the friendly URL's option and you can demo it here: http://www.datasprings.com/dataspringssitemap.axd." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.datasprings.com/dataspri...temap.axd.

I am planing (hopefully this week or next week) to write up a blog post that covers the steps I took... The only problem is (at this time at least) the code had to hard code several items for our specific site. I was not able to find the right controllers and objects for some of the loops and I had to write a query to also set the prefix URL and some other items within our forums. So, it needs some tweaks for sure but I will share what I created and hopefully it will help others out there.

    Not same.

I think we (at least I am) are looking for a sitemap that will have all the threads in the forums.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Well actually did you look through that site map? That site map DOES have all the threads in the forums... Over 6000 listed and about 5800 of them are all Active Forum threads.

I was also able to specify a few other things based on the forum thread date, number of views, number of replies etc... Basically depending on the date, view count, and the number of replies the "Priority" changes within the specific URL of the site map.

I did not see your sitemap because I am using Ifinity site map provider and it does not include any urls from the forum.

I will patiently wait for your blog.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Hi guys,

FrozenDNN - Yes I am also using the Ifinity URL Site Map Provider. When I started creating this I had originally contacted Bruce and started from the module add on template and inherited the IFinity so I guess its a combination of their main site map and my add on.

Yes I will try and get my post up next week... I am not sure exactly how helpful it will be as a global solution because in our case we had to create a few hard coded variables, a stored procedure, and modify an existing stored procedure. So, hopefully posting it will help and if anything its very close to becoming a global package/solution if someone spent and dedicated some time to it. So far they appear to be indexing properly in google now!
