Is there a way to set these hyperlinks to open in a new window?

Is there any way to create a security option, so people know what link they are going to?

What if someone puts a virus prone website as a URL? Then that person gets infected automatically just by visiting a URL, and naming that was converted to something interesting..

Sorry to hijack this thread, Adam, but I thought my questions is related so I am asking it here.

Will this enhancement convert all the existing links or only the links posted after the upgrade?
I am using the latest AS/AF/DNN available.
    Thanks.

    All existing links.

They already do if it is an external link.

This has nothing to do with auto links. If it is already a link we don't touch it. Which means you have already taken the risk of letting unknown users enter html.

We may add an option to redirect all external links to a dispatch page that warns the user they are about to leave the site. Beyond that, not much else we can control.

Yes a user actually asked me to incorporate this option. They said other websites do this, and it will resolve the URL to show what the website is summary.

Just so people know they are not being redirected to a SCAM website

A visual preview could be given by making use of www.snap.com

Using Snap only on EXTERNAL LINKS also. That way, people can get a preview..

I just wonder why the https:// are not auto-linking.

    Will,

I just noticed a problem with the auto-linking.

When it does the conversion, it changes all the links to lowercase. Some websites have specific links that require some characters to be uppercase, and some require to be lowercase.

    You can see from example:

I dont know why yours went stayed upper and lowercase. On my site if you visit this post you can see what I mean.

The auto-link feature has a problem with the auto-link URL, but if you copy and paste it manually into your browser that url will work correctly.

Does AM have a different setup?
