Is it possible to remove the link to active modules at the bottom of the forum? If yes how? |

It is possible if you have the enterprise edition. |

I have the Enterprise Edition, but the link to Active Forums at the bottom of the Forum is still visible. What is the problem? How can I remove/delete them?

You should be able to remove the link no matter what version you have. It's not good business to force people to display a link to your company on their website. |

It is possible and if you have the enterprise edition you should contact the people of AM directly. I believe this is mentioned somewhere in the forums and/or knowledgebase. |

It's not good business to force people to display a link to your company on their website. We put links to our company at the bottom of every website we launch. Author backlinks are pretty common and you can "buy out" of it with our company by paying for a semi-custom or custom skin. |

It's not good business to force people to display a link to your company on their website. I agree with you. It is annoying but the thing is it's their policy and it is within their rights. I do not like the link either and that's why I have the Enterprise version. Fortunately, you can get rid of the link in the enterprise version (which they do not have to provide either) by putting aflink display none (don't know the exact format) in the module.css file. However, I think it would be fair for AM to show this (the AF link thingy) in the comparison table for new buyers. After all, this is a MAJOR issue for many. Perhaps they can have a semi enterprise version that has no MC but it allows removal of af link. Just thinking loudly. |

I am using the latest AS/AF/DNN available.
Thanks. |

I only put links at the bottom of sites I create if my client is okay with it and I always ask first. I would never tell my client they had to pay me hundreds of dollars extra to remove a link to my website from anything I created or sold to them. The fact that active modules forces you to display their link unless you buy the most expensive version of their product is shady and not mentioned anywhere prior to purchase. |

shady As many times as this topic has come up I think this is the first time we've been called "shady". You are paying $49.95 for a product that has 90% of the same features as the $250 version. Now to be fair, Enterprise also includes a year of updates and support, but it's still the same code. Nearly any other commercial forum package on the market does the exact same thing. What's really shady is when the solution providers and resellers want the link removed simply because they don't want the client to know how much the module cost. You would be surprised how often we get contacted by the site owners checking up on their developer or consultant, including the ones where they tried to hide "Active Forums". I do appreciate the feedback and have updated our feature matrix. |

I've never purchased a module that forced me to display a link back to the module creator's website, and I've purchased hundreds of modules through Snowcovered and directly from developers. If it's a FREE module, that's one thing. But when I'm paying money, there should not be any ads. Period. It's not an issue of trying to conceal the source of the module from my clients. They can easily see who created the module by looking in the control panel, that's not the issue. The issue is you forcing your SEO/advertising on your customers without letting them know beforehand. That's the "shady" part. And you obviously agree since you've updated your matrix. My client wants the link removed and now I have to say to them, "Uh sure, we can remove that link but it will cost you an extra $200." That makes me look shady. |

And by the way, if you're starting your argument with the statement "As many times as this has come up," it should tell you something. It keeps coming up because it shouldn't be an issue in the first place. |

Thanks, Bem! For Enterpriseusers, I think this should be a control panel option. Options could be enable/ disable. An optional URL to your own image would be kool too! Seems that this would be very simple to implement; and keep dumb users likeme from writing these forum inquiries. Also should be in manual, if not already there. |

Enterprise doesn't have a link, it's just basic text. Considering the changes with the product that will come later this year, I don't see us doing anything different at this time. |
