How is Active Social licensed?
Active Social is licensed per DotNetNuke installation. You can have Active Social on unlimited portals within one DotNetNuke (DNN) installation.
Do I need to buy an additional license for my development server?
Active Social can be installed and configured on your development server without activating the license for 30 days. If you need to activate the license and keep it in development for longer than 30 days, you will need an additional license. We do offer a 15% discount for current license holders when purchasing additional licenses. If you anticipate needing many licenses, please contact us for information on bulk discounts.
Do I need to buy a license to Active Social and Active Forums?
No, Active Social actually includes a license to Active Forums Enterprise. You do not need to purchase both.
Is source code available for Active Social?
Source code is not available for Active Social. However, Active Social is highly customizable. Because it is template based, design and layout are very easy to control. If there are any features you do not plan to use, they can be easily hidden/removed. If you require features that are not yet available in Active Social, please let us know. We are continuously working to enhance our modules!
Can Active Social be localized?
Yes, to localize Active Social you will need to edit the resources file using the language editor. Although we do not offer translations for all the text, some of our users have made them available through our Community forums.
What versions of DotNetNuke are supported?
DotNetNuke versions 4.9.x and 5.1.1 or newer are supported. You can use either the Community or Professional version of DotNetNuke.
Do you have a trial version of Active Social?
We do not have a trial version of Active Social available at this time. You can join our demo site, www.activesocial.com, to explore many of Active Social’s features. We also have a return policy in place to assure customer satisfaction.
What is your return policy?
Active Social can be returned for a full refund within 30 days if the license has not been activated.
Where can I find documentation regarding Active Social?
Documentation is available after purchase in the Downloads section of our website under Active Social, Additional Files.
Is there a limit to how many users Active Social can handle?
No, Active Social can support as many users as your DotNetNuke configuration can support.
Is there a limit to how many groups can be created and how many members those groups can have?
No
Will I have access to new releases?
Purchase of an Active Social license includes one year of support and product updates. After that year, customers have the ability to renew support and updates at a discounted rate.
I have Active Forums Enterprise, is there an upgrade path to Active Social?
Yes, please contact sales@activemodules.com for additional information.
I have Active Profile, can I migrate information to Active Social?
Yes, all information stored in the DotNetNuke user profile will transfer.
Can I add custom fields to the User Profile and search based on those fields?
Yes.
Can Active Social be integrated with other modules?
Yes, many of our users have successfully integrated Active Social with other third-party modules. Some common modules include Ultra Video Gallery, Swirl Chat, XMOD and Ventrian New Articles. However, if there is functionality you would like to achieve on your site that you currently cannot with Active Social, please let us know. We are constantly adding new features to our modules, and customer feedback is the biggest influence on what features are added next!
If our site uses a custom registration method, will users need to register twice to access Active Social?
No, as long as your registration logs the users in to DotNetNuke, they will not need to register/login twice to access Active Social.
