Active Social Registration Wizard

by Will M on 07 Jan 2009 07:24 PM

Here is a brief video I just put together that takes you through the sign up process using the Active Social Registration wizard.  Keep in mind that all of the fields you see are defined using the DotNetNuke Profile Properties.  You can create as many or as few steps as you like and also choose fields or groups of fields to display in the template.

Ok, this is good no doubt.

About the registration:

Can I create roles (for autosubscriptions) and then ask the user while registering to check optional "checkboxes" to subscribe to particular forums?

Optional Listserv Subscriptions

NSFW LISTSERV
SFW LISTSERV
GENERAL LISTSERV
ETC LISTSERV

With the first release, probably not. We would like to offer some integration with a module like Dyanmic Registration from DataSprings.

I have DR so it's not a problem for me but in the end you will end up making AS expensive for your end user.

I'm not saying we wouldn't add that capability. We are going to be adding numerous features over the next year.

I have no idea. Just didn't feel like selecting U.S. in the video.

Also, Will,
Is the profile photo moderated?
In my dating site we have a great option for moderation with an image editor, So we can edit images that are shot from a long distance ets... This could be a great feature...
There is an editor for dnn in here:

Great work Will. How does the wizard determine which fields that we create go on what page of the wizard?

Also, it would be totally great if there is a way to give at least a rough estimate of Profile % Complete. I find that on a few sites like LinkeIn and it seems to be an incentive to get people to jump back in and complete their profile. It would have to be somewhat dynamic in that if I add some fields to the profile, it would need to recognize that and incorporate it into the calc.

Seems like you should be able to do a count on the profile fields and divide that by the Non Null fields to get at least a rough number.
