Is active social compatible with DNN 6.1.1? I'm reading on DNN about AS & jquery problems but they also mention a Dark Night skin, so not sure if skin is problem or AS ...
Can you clarify, does AS work with DNN 6.1.1 or do we need to wait for upgrade to AS? Not using Dark night skin.

There is currently an issue with how Active Social detects if jQuery has been loaded on the page. This can cause an issue with the ribbon bar and manage buttons on certain skins in DNN 6.1.1. Active Social 1.9.5 will be released soon to resolve this issue. |

Ben, thanks for the update. I'm currently running a clone test and encountered the problem with AS in trying to upgrade. Since I have AS on every page, I'll definitely need the fix before I can continue with the upgrading testing.

Can we get a status update on the AS Patch? When this issue was discovered last week Will mentioned the patch would be available in a few days. It has been six days, but maybe I shouldn't count the weekend. I am not really that concerned about how long it has been, just need to know if we can expect the patch before the holidays start so I can plan my schedule accordingly.
Does this delay mean that you are trying to implement any of the AS 2.0 features in this patch? Does it mean that this is a big patch in and of itself to resolve this issues and therefore is taking longer than expected? Or is it a straightforward patch but you just haven't had the time to get it done?
Thanks for any update you can provide and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I'm guessing that Will is hard at work on this behind the scenes (other than on Thanksgiving tomorrow, of course). Echoing Cliff, though, a crumb here and there on where things are would go a long way to helping us all plan. In my case, our upgrade to DNN 6.1.1 is on hold until AS catches up. Happy Thanksgiving to all! |

I just upgraded my test site to DNN 6.1.1 to see if any other modules would fail.
Interesting that you should say ribbon bar and manage buttons ... on this site the ribbon bar failed with upgrade to 5.6.3 , so using icon bar. Upgrade switches you to ribbon bar, so you have no host or admin functions (have thread on DNN since August but no fix). Once you figure out how to switch back to iconbar (you have no admin or host menu) ...
Anyway, I noticed that AS and AF worked except for the login pages ... the manage buttons are fine. On login page, manage don't work. Not sure if manage buttons work (on other pages) because I'm on older version of AS or because I am using iconbar. Will upgrade AS & AF tomorrow. But has anyone encountering problem just tried switching to iconbar?

HI guys - any update on the fix? Our site is not dead in the water, but it's severely aggrivating! To edit HTML modules, I've had to place a 2nd instance on another page that doesn't have Active Social, and edit there. Also I had ot switch to Icon Bar so that I could easily switch from Edit to Layout mode with radio buttons, as the Edit/Layout dropdown event stopped working on my home page with AS. As you know you can't get into a module's settings or move it around the page unless you're in layout mode. I haven't been completely "prevented" from doing anything yet - but just about EVERYTHING I do takes maybe 4 times as long.
Also - will the fix be freely offered to everyone? I'm on 1.09.04 version.
Thanks for the info! |

I'll also chime in and ask for an update/timeline. I'm ready to purchase AS, a tough decision as it will be included in DNN at some point (when, of course, is the big question). Since I have a project that needs to move forward, I've decided to go ahead and purchase AS, but now that I've discovered there is an issue and AS 1.9.5 will be released, I'm back to waiting, as the project doesn't have a large budget, and we'll be purchasing the express version (30 days for updates only). |

Ben or Will, As this issue is preventing a scheduled upgrade in DNN for us, it's important that we be kept apprised of progress on this. Thank you. Steve |

If this were a simple or quick fix we would have released it by now. Ben is currently testing the Enterprise package which will hopefully be complete later today. |

Thanks for the update Will. I wasn't trying to put pressure on you (which I know is high in a situation like this), but only trying to get some idea of where things are four our own planning purposes. Thanks for the update and also for your work on getting AS ready for DNN 6.1.1.+ Steve |

No doubt it's not an easy fix...but a little communication goes a long way. No need to be snarky. |

Great -- many thanks! Could someone please clarify -- I've read on other forum threads that all future updates are provided free of charge (can't find the quote at the moment). Any truth to this? With much talk of AS 2.0, not to mention inclusion in the core/included extensions -- I'm not quite sure what to do. I've decided that I'll go ahead and fork over $200 to get this functionality now, rather than waiting for inclusion into DNN -- but with only 30 days of updates at the $200 price point -- I just don't want to be the victim of bad timing when I purchase. I would love to purchase today, if anyone could help clarify. Thanks again. |

If you made your purchase on snowcovered.com you will need to download the module from there. The newest version will be uploaded there shortly. |

Thanks for getting this patch out. I installed AF and then AS updates without issue. My Admin Manage buttons are now working as expected on all pages except the Profile page. On the Profile page the only Manage button that works is the Welcome Center. The main menu hover and other modules hover doesn't work. All manage buttons except the Welcome Center are fixed and opaque.
I have other pages with AS modules like Community Journal that also have the Welcome Center and all work on that page. It is just the profile page not working. Will do more testing but wanted to get this feedback out before heading into another meeting.
Anyone else having success?
I had temporarily taken the Welcome Center and Mini Login off all pages when I was initially troubleshooting this issue. Now I am trying to use the Display on All Pages checkbox to add it back for testing but it isn't working. Anybody having any issues with adding to all pages?

I can't reproduce that Cliff. Do you have a 3rd party module loaded on a profile tab that might be loading jQuery? |

Duh! I forgot that I was loading InvenManager Event Calendar and Registration onto a tab. I commented that out and now it works. AFAIK ECR is the only other module I have running right now that needs to be patched. There might be some BizModules like UMG / UVG that use jQuery but not sure. Maybe Jeff Blanks knows for sure. I would like to ask that if there was anything significant that you learned in the process of doing the AS/AF patch could you possibly share that in a blog or something that other module developers could access? I know that InvenManager needs to update his ECR module and if there is any guidance that can be provided it might help speed up that process. Thanks for getting this done. |

Went to the downloads section and also to my profile downloads. I don't have the latest downloads in either place. What do I need to do to get the latest releases of AS/AF Ent. |

I just completed purchase on SnowCovered. It appears 1.9.5 hasn't been posted there yet. I've tried to PM Ben, but the website tells me to log in (I already am) -- I assume this is due to moderation. How can I download 1.9.5? This is my project over the holidays and I would really like to get started ASAP. Thanks! |
