- Active Social Version: 1.8.0
- DotNetNuke Version: 4.9.5
I am trying to install Active Social 1.8.0 on a client's site. I installed both modules (AF after AS) on a DNN 4.9.5 (with German and English language installed), I only got an error during AF installation about a stored procedure (AF_Search), which has been replaced by a later script.
Added AS to a page, selected Standard Configuration, followed the wizard, but no modules or pages are created. only option is "Expert". Module displays fine if "User List" is selected, but if I choose to display "Member Profile", I get "Parameter count does not match Parameter Value count."
Has anyone an idea, what's wrong? |

Hi Nikolaus, Please download and install Active Social 1.8.2. This will correct the parameter count error. I'm not sure why the configuration wizard would fail. Were there any errors in the event viewer? |

Config Wizard: I didn't find any items in the eventlog. it reported having executed fine and to reload page to see other pages, but nothing has happened for simple and Standard configuration. |

I'm not really sure why the configuration wizard wouldn't complete the process for you. It could have something to do with your DotNetNuke configuration. If you haven't configured anything yet, I would suggest uninstalling the module, then install Active Forums 4.2.7, then Active Social 1.8.2 and try again. |

Are you getting any javascript errors on the page, or anything in the control panel? What happens when you try to save a comment? |

Re: Comments - can you click the envelope to the left of this post, and send me login information to your site, so I can take a look myself. Re: Search characters: I just tested and it appears that the error occurs when those are the first letters in the search string, but having them in the middle of a word does not cause an error. I will report this to the developers. |

I was able to leave a comment in English. Do I need to do something to change the whole page into English? I have reproduced the issue with the special characters. |

I believe this is a problem with the localized value [RESX:LeaveComment].Text If the value is not "Leave a comment..." then the javascript might not function correctly. The developers may already be aware of this, but I will add it to our internal issue tracker. |

Thanks... just let me know when this happened. Another question: in active social you have the opportunity to import to groups "import role". As we do have roles which consists of many members, that doesn't work really. It Only imports just a few of them... what's wrong there? Or do I have to do smething I forgot? Best Niko |

Hi Ben, another question.. sory for that. I'm wonderung wether you have the possibility to have the inbox (messages) implementable on each profile. That would be just perfect that the members do not have to jump around and just find der messages/notifications on their profile site. Is there anything? Best Niko |

1) Importing by role does work with large numbers of users, but I think it commonly times out because it is very mail-server intensive, because it send an email to every member when they join a group. You may want to try temporarily disabling your SMTP settings, then adding all the members. 2) There is not currently a way to display the inbox or the content of messages on the profile page. However, if you add something like the Welcome Center to the page, users can see how many unread messages they have so they can just click that to be taken to the inbox. |

At this time it is only possible for the group creator to make events for the group. |

Yes, we have had other requests for this functionality previously. The events system is due to get a feature improvement in a future version. |
