The "Whats New" module has been working out great as a home page "Announcement" module. I have it hooked into my "Announce" forum and have it display the topic and life is good.

But I recently needed to make a post in another forum appear on the home page. Since I don't want all the posts from this other forum on my home page and I don't want to duplicate threads, I thought it would be great if the What's New module had the ability to only display topics that are marked as announcements. It seems this would make for a perfect use case and would allow expiring information to be removed from the front page as soon as the announcement date expires.

I know there is the ability to use tags as a filter in Whats New, but some of my forums allow users to set tags and I don't want my home page hijacked with content I don't explicitly set to be shown.
