    Hello everybody,

I was wondering if AS 1.7 supports also profile types as it does for groups. That is, adding another set of templates for profiles (e.g. Fans, Artist, etc) and then (maybe) letting AS pool the right template by the user type (role).

    Thanks,
    David

I'm refreshing this post as the need for this feature has rose again and I was wondering if it is available in AS 1.9.

As alternative I would like to have two different instances of user profile on the site (one is configured for users of type A and the other for users of type B). I actually added two instances of user profile to the site and it looks well but I'm not sure how to go about assigning different template to each.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I like the idea. But don't see how we can assign different templates to different profile types. I would like to see what you have done with your website, if you do not mind. Please.

    Thank you
I am using the latest AS/AF/DNN available.
    Thanks.

    Hi Frozen,
It make sense to simply create a template for profile view and to select it from the 'Template' drop down list of the control settings. However no matter what I try or where I add the template, nothing appear in this drop down list except from "Default Template". If you have any idea how to populate this drop down control I'd be the first to thank you for exposing it. I looked all over the forum trying to find a document that describe how to add different types of profile view templates; Obviously I couldn't find anything.

    Thanks,

I'm pleased to announce that there is a way to do it. You simply create two pages and add an instance of AS configured as profileview to each one of them. Then you create two different templates that start with ProfileView (e.g. ProfileViewA, ProfileViewB) as explained here:

    http://www.activemodules.com/active...te/#69721.

You can then configure one profile view instance to use ProfileViewA and the other ProfileViewB.

    Hope it helps.
