Hi

I noticed that when someone posts a topic (or respond to a topic), the original poster doesn't get a copy of the email that is sent out as part of the notification (subscription). Is there a way to change that so that the original poster ALSO gets the email notification?

Another point is that when the email notification is sent out, the body of the posting that is sent with the email is truncated. Is it possible to change it so that the ENTIRE posting is included in the email notification?

Thanks.

You should post this as a feature request.

The full body of the post is sent in the notification. Make sure your template is using [BODY] and not [BODY:XXX] where XXX is number of characters to display. We have seen in the past that certain mail servers will truncate HTML messages for one reason or another. It would happen to us when using MailEnable, but it wasn't isolated to Active Forums. It would happen with any HTML message. If you have further questions about this, please create a topic in the Community Support forum.

Thanks for the prompt response. I have a follow-up question (btw, how do I put in a feature request?)

When someone posts a topic, and an email it sent, the email address that it is coming from is the default email address. Can we change that email to the email of the POSTER? The reason why we are using the forum is to prevent people using emails going back and forth. However, to make this work, we need to make the email notification look like it comes from the poster, not the system.

Any way of changing that? Thanks.

No, that isn't possible.

Here is a link to the feature requests forum:

As a follow-up question. Right now the email address is being pulled from SOMEWHERE. Where does it come from?

Is it possible to change the email address?

The email address used is from the admin account associated with the portal. You can also change this under the main settings for each forum. Look for the field called email address.
