    <!--[if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 21 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:Standaardtabel; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> I noticed that some of the group forums have permissions set for the SocialGroup_Admin & SocialGroup_Member. The subforums for these, 3 old groups, have the right settings (each group has its own role for admin and member) in the forum security tab.

In one of these sub forums I need to adjust some settings (add all users for viewing etc) and this is somehow not possible in the Active Forums control panel. One of the forums is not accessible for members that by default should have access to that forum. When adding a new forum in the Group section of the control panel of Active Social the added forum pops up with the SocialGroup_Admin & Member groups instead of the specific group roles and there is no possibility to alter the security settings for the newly added forum. The group roles in the control panel of Active Social are set for the group and are not set to the template SocialGroup roles of Active Social.

In order to avoid this behaviour I have taken a different route for some groups. I have moved the forum with the topics fist to a maintenance group (only visible for admins) and deleted both the group and the forums. When I recreated the group in the control panel of Active Social I noticed that the permissions for the forums were created as it should be and after moving over the topics to the newly created forums I only had to add the members back into the group. This solved the matter for these groups.

The groups that I am trying to correct now have the most members so deleting the group and forum and adding users will create some questions amongst members that I would like to avoid.

    • Is there another way to correct the security settings for the group forums / forums?
    • Perhaps with some SQL-statement?

    Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, I am running DNN 544 & AS 1.7.3 (upgraded all the way back from 1.0.0 – no betas)

    Regards,
    Marc
