Hi

We set up the forum to allow auto subscription based on security roles. The confusion comes when the user goes into the forum, and sees that the "Check this box to subscribe to this topic" checkbox still unchecked. To alleviate this confusion, is there a way to either:
1. make the checkbox checked if the auto subscription is working for the user; or
2. remove the checkbox totally to avoid this confusion. We can tell people to put themselves in the security role if they want notification.

Any ideas of which would be easier to do and how to do it? Thanks.

You can't do the first but you can remove the subscription token from the template. You can remove the subscription tokens from Topics View and Topic View template.

how do I remove the tokens from Topics View and Topic View template? btw, I don't have the source code for the forum, so I'm not sure if I have the ability to even do it. Thanks.

You can edit the templates in the control panel. There is a page called "Templates".

Thanks for the response. It works! However, I have another question. Under the QUICK REPLY and ADD REPLY, there's also a subscribe check box, but I can't seems to find the template associated with that. Any ideas which template I'm suppose to change to remove the checkbox for QUICK REPLY and ADD REPLY?

Not sure but try disabling subscriptions in the security tab and the forums feature tab. I don't whether it will work but you should try it.
