I noticed that after upgrading to AS 171 that my Twitter settings were no longer present. When adding the settings in the Social Tools the profile is upgraded but the settings are not stored. When revisiting the social tools page I noticed that what I entered is simply not there anymore. Please advise. |

This means the authentication information provided is working or the connection to twitter failed. Nothing changed in this area for 1.7 and I've just tested again to make sure everything is working. |

Hi Will,
It's not just the setting but also a mixup of the GUI. I'll try a repair install and hope this will solve the matter. |

Nothing changed with those templates or related CSS so the problem was probably there before 1.7. Are you using an XHTML skin? Are you using the _activesocial theme? |

If you edit the DNN profile properties for one of the ASURL types, it will change to the AD type - could it be that? I've been fixing manually via SQL query. |

This goes back to my first guess...you can't connect to twitter. System.Security.SecurityException: Not Authorized. You are running under medium trust or some other security setting is preventing access to twitter. |

Will, I checked with my hosting provider and the assured me that I am still running in a full trust environment. I'll provide them with the full entry from the event log and see what they can come up with. Do you have any idea, in terms of security setting, what might be causing this? Thanks in advance |

@Will, I have an update on this matter. I restored the live website to my locahost and when trying to save the social tool settings I got the same entry in the event viewer. I am running the site on my Windows 7 with IIS 7.5 laptop. This makes me not so certain anymore this is related to the webhosting environment in which I am running at this moment. Please share your thoughts (and hopefully some more suggestions) with me to tackle this one. Thanks in advance. |

Marc, The only two possible options are trust level or authentication information. We have that error thrown for this very specific reason. I search our internal database for that same error. All instances have been resolved by changing trust level or resetting the password with twitter and updating your settings. |

Will, I have resetted the twitter password but unfortunately this has not resolved this matter. I'll have to wait for the reaction from my hosting company .... Currently on DNN544 & AS173 |
