Hi, All of a sudden I am getting emails containing private messaging posts from a community I run. I haven't upgraded anything it just seemed to just show up. So for example, user A sends user B a private message..but I (user C who has nothing to do with it) gets an email message of the reply? Did i flip a setting with out knowing it?

Do you mean an actual email reply or a private message reply?

to be honest I am not sure what it is...so you are thinking that a recepient is hitting reply to the 'email' concerning the message and therefore coming to me(the admin)?

Ok, strange I had never run into that before. My community is really exploding right now...getting some new users i guess. That is obviously what the 'noreply' feature on the control panel is for. Thanks for quick assistance and a great product.

    Daniel,
You might consider adding a new mailbox ...something like noreply@yourwebsite.com. Set this in your control panel for AS as the email address to use when sending messages. Then in your email system - setup an auto-reply rule for any emails sent to that address explaining how they can't reply to PM.s and some instructions on what do to reply correctly.

I did this on my site and it solved a lot of issues as many of our users have come over form Google/Yahoo eGroups...where replying to an email was how you interacted.

Yes, I use my noreply autoreply at pokerdiy.com as an advertising tool - e.g a user friendly, informal message (it gets hit a lot!) saying "Go to your inbox to reply to messages, "if you want to advertise, go here", " find home poker games here" etc. etc.
    thanks
