Ok, I've been banging my head on this one and need some help from anyone who's done this. I have AS and AF, recent releases on both as of the time of this post.

    My current config:
    1. Progressive Registration with users added to (we'll call it) mygroup at the time of registration and added to a community role after verification.
    2. Mygroup is open to everyone.
    3. Reason for mygroup at time of registration is to have all group activity added to the AS summary feed for all community users to view.
    4. One centralized AF instance for all my forums are setup for groups.

But my problem is I need to:
    1. Have a seperate AF instance on other pages "help page" and "public discussions". And yet have these forums tied to mygroup so that they still feed into the AS summary feed.
    2. Or simply have multple instances of AF that will feed into the summary without being tied to a group but yet be visible to guests and members through the feed.

I've tried the AF viewer but because of how forums are added for groups, the templates don't allow for adding new topics to the appropriate forum.

Any suggestions on this one? Has anyone tried anything similar? What about RSS feeds from other AF instances pulled into mygroup that will post to the summary?

    Hmmm.......
    Cheers! Jeff

Active Social only accepts forum posts from forums that associated with a group. There is an issue linking existing forums to a group, but can help if you create a help desk ticket. Using the RSS manager to import the rss feed of the forum is a good idea.

Got a helpdesk ticket open on the linking existing forums to a group myself, whenever you guys get a chance. I imagine it's busy after a long weekend :-)
