    Hi Will,

Just a validation of my understanding of a disabled message page:

Currently, I have Messaging Page "disabled" (CP settings).  I assume this will prevent receiving notifications on approvals for group creation, friend requests, requests to join a Closed group, etc.  Is this correct?

I have a site that wants the messaging between members disabled but still want to recieve administrative related messaging.  Assuming my assumption above is correct, my approach will be to enable messaging but remove the "send message" options from the various views.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Dave,
Messaging can't be disabled because of the alerts system. However, this has come up a couple of times so we are looking into ways to disable "Member Messaging" but leave alerts in place.

    Hi Will,

Great - thanks for the response. For this configuration, I will not "disable" messaging but will limit access via DNN page permissions and removing the "Send Message" option on the MemberList and ProfileView pages.

    Thanks,
    Dave
