Can someone please explain to me how tags can be used?

When you create a new forum topic, there is a textbox for tags saying "A tag is a keyword or term associated with the content you are submitting." If I want to tag this topic with several keywords, how do I do it? Type each keyword and separate them by commas? Also, on the control panel, you can add Tags. How are they related or can be tied back to topics or tags specified for topics?

Also, has anyone created a tag cloud for forums? If so, can you please let me know how you implemented it?

You define tags in the control panel or when you create a new post.

The tags need to be separated by commas with no spaces.

After you submit the post, you can click on a tag to search for other posts with that tag.

We plan to improve the functionality of tags so that you can display all posts with a certain tag, or a tag cloud, etc. This will be in Active Forums 5.0

Also, you may encounter an error when entering tags via the reply editor, this is a known issue that will be resolved with an improved text suggest system.

How, exactly, is searching for tags supposed to work? When I click on a tag in a post, it takes me to the search form and says "No topics were found using the criteria you provided." There is nothing in the search box, either. If I manually type in the search box a tag that I know exists, the only posts that get returned in the results are posts that have the tag words in their content.

This is using Active Forums 4.2.6.0 on DotNetNuke 5.1.4.

BTW, filtering by tags works in the ForumViewer module.

Did this issue ever get resolved? Is this some sort of timing issue?

I started using tags, but clicking on them results in an empty search page.
