I have upgraded my Af to the 4.2.4 from 4.2.3

Posted a new topic as a regular user and all text is missing. Only the hyperlink is there. Deleted post and tried again. Same thing. Reply to the post with text and the text does show up. Any ideas?

I see this behavior as well...empty posts for about 10-20% of users.

We need some examples of text where this is occurring. We also need to know which HTML editor being used.

It's not just randomly choosing not to display content. We haven't seen this behavior at all with our testing. Chances are something within in the content is triggering the cross-site scripting filter.

Ok I just discovered something. It has to do with the characters, the number of characters in the text to be exact.

I started a new topic, typed Test Test Test, saved and the text was there. I then typed :

"I am testing to see how many characters are needed to invoke the no text bug. it may be a few or it may be alot but it is there somewhere. I am typing jibberish because I am testing :-)"

and saved in a new topic and it was not saved.

I am using the default font (None showing in the editor) and I am using the Default DNN editor. I also started a support ticket for this.

And it is not user specific. I just re-created the bug with a superuser account.

The FCKEditor is injecting characters that can also be used to create an encoded xss attack which is triggering the filter.

As a quick fix, yes. But it will still cause problems with content that has already been created. We are going to need to release a patch for the proper fix.

Ok ActiveEditor is working as expected. I will be watching for a patch to be released.

Thanks again Will M. for the assistance.

What about disabling HTML Input...will that at least stop the removal of text?

Any word on a patch release for this yet? I didn't realize how many people would notice an editor change, but they are, and not liking it :-(

Disabling HTML Input seems to work for me...I haven't had any more blank posts...

Will can you tell us if this issue was corrected in the 4.2.5 release? Not having the ability to use templates or load images is a bit of a pain.
