I'm trying to do some customization on the signup page and it seems to be stripping my < % tags out. I also tried < script ru nat="server" > without luck. Am I doing something wrong or is this by default? If so is there something I can do to get around it?

Yes. You can add your own controls, but you can't add code directly for security reasons.
