    When I delete a thread, it deleted the entire topic....

    Yes, if you delete the first topic in a thread it will delete the entire thread. I don't see why it should be any different.

    I've had more than a few times in the past (different forum software) where the initial post prompted replies that then migrated to an entirely new discussion. The replies made were quite impressive, but totally unrelated to the initial conversation. For those topics, I then split the thread into two seperate threads that allowed both conversations to continue independently.

    Is splitting a topic going to be available in 4.2? That would solve this situation.
