I posted on another player's wall (we are not friends).

I then can't delete my own post - is this by design or an oversight? (I assume the wall owner can)
    thanks

It's by design. The owner and admin can delete journal items.

    Is it open to debate?

On all the social networks (including Facebook) I have seen the owner is the person who posts it - so the content owner, profile owner and admin can delete it.

Not really Since it's already planned to be an admin setting once journal security is released.
