Active Social 1.2

by Beth on 17 Sep 2009 12:11 PM

We are excited to get Active Update started again, and I look forward to reporting to you every week about what is going on here at Active Modules and hearing your feedback!

The big news this week is that we have upgraded www.activesocial.com to Active Social 1.2 and have made 1.2 available to current customers.  We know that some of you have been anticipating this release for a few weeks, and we hope you’ll agree that it was worth the wait!

The release of Active Social 1.2 includes several new features as well as fixes for existing issues.  Some highlights are:
  • The Events feature’s first release: Users can now create personal or group events and invite friends or groups to those events.
  • Verified registration enhancements
  • Amazon S3 Integration with the gallery for storage of image files
  • Text Suggest in the message composer: Users can begin typing the username of the recipient in the “To” field, and matching members will appear.
  • Additional profile visibility options for increased privacy
  • And much more!  For complete release notes click here.
Feedback about the release has been positive, and upgrades are going smoothly.  Thanks are in order to the users who have reported some minor problems.  A patch was quickly released to address a few errors with events and the member list.  If you’ve upgraded to Active Social 1.2, we would love to hear your feedback as well.

Be looking for a public release of Active Social 1.2 early next week!

Great to have the new release out - congrats!

With regards to the Events module, are you planning to include a real calender for this as well? If not, which calender module would you recommend that we supplement the AS module with?

Cheers,
Frank

Hi Frank,
Take a look at the Events roadmap and you will see that we are going to different viewing options. This will also include the typical calendar type view.
Thanks,
Will
