I thought that this was a very interesting development.. I had always assumed that there was a little bad blood between the two because of some of the things that were said in newsletters... I can only hope that this is a good thing for the community...

Overall I think this is good news. Snowcovered has always been very open and ease of entry market. DotNetNuke Corp has always wanted to the see the quality of modules improve. I hope that by bringing the two together they will be able to provide the best experience possible for new and existing users of DotNetNuke.

Now, if the lack of competition causes them to leave everything as is, then it's not a good thing. Snowcovered isn't perfect, but it has been crucial to the growth of DotNetNuke.

I found this interesting this morning when I received 3 diffrent email, 2 from DNN Corp. Not surprised since has appeared for a while that DNN Corp is gearing to create revenue. What better way than get appart of the 3rd party sales. Like Will said I too think it can be for the better.

I think this is a good thing. I hope they review all the products and launch all the lame, no longer supported modules for sale on Snowcovered. Snowcovered is also not good about cleaning out old versions of the same module. Not sure I can count on their rating system either, can vendors edit that?

I really like their site though, and the patches and fix download area.

I have really liked snowcovered.com - and I hope they can integrate similar functionality and views as we have all grown to enjoy from their site.. I am sure snowcovered.com received a nice compensation for selling. Getting the %'s for each sale is nothing to shy away from. They did a great job allowing their site to grow over the years and continue providing great support, and functionality.. Overall, I think this is a great merge, and look forward to seeing how things play out.
