Information about Active Cases 3.0

by Will M on 31 Jul 2009 03:24 PM

We have been very quiet about the future of Active Cases.  Active Cases was the second product released by Active Modules.  Unfortunately, Active Cases never really had the sales volume to keep up with Active Forums.  This meant that it received less attention obviously.  About this time last year we did spend a significant amount time preparing Active Cases for a release to coincide with OpenForce '08.  Well, it goes with out saying, Active Social stole the attention and Active Cases was on the back burner once again.  Obviously I wouldn't be posting if I didn't have something positive to say.

Several weeks ago, I ran across the old Active Cases code.  Believe it or not, the code worked and we were even further along than I thought.  I handed off the code to Ben for him to clean up some of the CSS, javascript and test the overall functionality.  Here are a few screen captures:
 Main Console

Tickets can be organized by queues.  You can also see a variety of filters and search options.
Ticket Screen
This gives you all the information regarding the ticket.  You can also see that you have tabs for Notes, Tasks, Attachments, Time Log and general case info.
 Task Manager

This is a summary of all tasks in the systems.  Tasks can be just general tasks or related to a case.

We still have a few items to finish up before Active Cases is ready for release.  We are going to be migrating Active Cases 3.0 next week.  Active Cases is just one piece of our Social CRM solution.

Thanks Will, I'm looking forward to the release. I've never really been able to get AC 2 running properly.

Is there any further news about the release of 3.0? We're certainly interested in the new version. Will there be a demo available?
    thanks!

I have created a list of the things that still need to be completed. The development team will begin working on the list soon. After they complete their work on the new version of Active Forums.

I do not know if there will be a demo version.

    Hi Ben,

I understood that Active Purchase was pretty much ready a while ago and hope that you guys will be able to finish this before starting with Active Cases (although I'd love an update on that also). Which product is on top of Active Modules wish list?

Well the wish list is up to Will ultimately. I hope I am not tipping our hand too much by saying anything here...

AP 2.0 is just about done, and is on its way to release. AP 3.0 is progressing very nicely.

Will is excited about AC 3.0 and wants to swing into full scale production on it as quickly as possible.

    Thanks Ben,

I am sure that when AP 2.0 is about done you would like to have this product released also, especially with all the features that were mentioned in one of Will's blogs, and launch another fine money making product .

    Thanks,
    Marc

Will doesn't like to release a version until he is 100% satisfied with it.
