I apologize to anyone that feels we just spammed them from the Active Update blog. This was actually an accident. Last weekend I was troubleshooting the UI portion of selecting roles and added a few customer roles to the Active Update blog. However, this did allow us to test the Automatic Forum Subscriptions by Role feature. When Mollie submitted her post, over 1,700 customers were emailed without any errors. That is with just using the basic email functionality, not the advanced mail queue feature. I was very reluctant to add this feature, but I think it is going to work out very well.
