A user may have read every single post on my forum's, but if they post something new, and look at the threads again, it says there is a new post in the thread, even though they are the one who made the post.

It makes them think someone else made a new post, so it annoys them.

So obviously the change in behavior would be:  Don't count a user's own post as a new unread post.
