Hello everyone! We have been receiving a lot of requests for a script to convert from the DNN forums to the latest version of Active Forums. While this script is not yet finished, I am going to outline a work-around that will allow you to migrate all your content.

First, you will need to send a quick email to sales@activemodules.com to obtain a copy of the 3.7.8 trial edition. (This is assuming you do not already have a full version of 3.7.8.)

Then download this conversion script: Link

Next, install 3.7.8 on your site through the module definitions page in the host menu. Add the module to a new page, making sure you do not put it on the same page as your DNN forums. You will need to extract the .zip file containing the conversion scripts.

Run the conversion script, as per the instructions in the included .pdf file.

Once the conversion is complete, you will be running Active Forums 3.7.8 with all your content migrated. Now you can use the AFImport module to upgrade to version 4.x. There are explicit instructions for using this module included in the download.

The migration tool can be found in the Downloads section with the latest version of the Forum Module.
