We’re running Active Profile 01.40.02 (just bought from Snowcovered) on DNN 04.08.04 at http://equityrise.com

Having a problem creating profiles.

When I click the link that says “Create your profile now”, I’m taken to the URL http://www.equityrise.com/member_profiles.aspx?ctl=CreateProfile

which is a blank page.

Then, if I navigate back to the profile creation page and click the link a second time, I am taken to

http://www.equityrise.com/member_profiles.aspx?ctl=CreateProfile&mid=486

which allows me to create a profile with no further problem.

How do I get this to work the first time the user clicks the “Create your profile now”  link?   Feel free to register at the site and try to create a profile to test.

Thanks.

Brett,
Looks like you are using a custom URL provider. This doesn't happen with a default install or standard DNN URL Rewriter. You may need to talk with the vendor of the component you are using.

Will,

I'm using the Inventua HrefExchanger, which I understand is widely used.   What do you mean by "standard URL rewriter"?

I'd prefer not to have to lose my search-engine-friendly URL's to get the social network to run.  If there's another URL rewriter that works with Active Profiles I'll be happy to use it.

Thanks.

Brett,
Active Profile (and all of our modules) follow the standard method for re-writing URLs provided within DotNetNuke. There isn't any way we can account for all third-party URL re-writers. It actually sounds like a possible bug in Inventua HrefExchanger.

First, turn off Inventua and see if you still have the same problem.
