Hi, not sure how many of you look at the size of your DB, however, my ActiveProfile DB was only 187MB on 7/11/2008 and on 8/13/2008 it is 1.06GB. Now the fact remains that I had 2329 users on 7/11/2008 and the same number of users on 8/13/2008. The traffic is almost negligible, that is  about 24 users visit every day since 7/11/2008.

Why has the DB grown so much? I don't have an answer and am looking for one!

I must note that I also have Active Messages installed and integrated into Active Profile, but if the visits are so low why does the DB grow so much.

I am willing to promote my site, but have this concern of how big the DB will grow even without users!

Please help me understand were I have a problem, what I am doing wrong.

Thanks a million.

Vin
PS: I just updated to the latest version of ActiiveProfile

Vinny,
The modules are going to be the cause of this unless something is a tremendous amout of errors on your site. I would start by checking your event log.

Chances are your database file really isn't that big. More than likely it's going to be your transaction log. That is actually a quite normal size that isn't backed up regularly. You want to make sure your transaction log is being truncated after each backup.

Another cause for a large database would be your site log table. Make sure that is being cleared out on a regular basis with your DotNetNuke schedule.

Hope that helps.
