The module for Active Profile does not seem to mention the friend function. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete a friend. I think it is pretty outrageous to cut-off support when the documentation provided does not address all of the functions of the module. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

There doesn't seem to be a way to delete a friend.

1. Click Pending Requests
2. You will now see a list of your friends.
3. Click the check box next to the name of the friend you wish to delete.
4. Now click the button that says "Delete"

Let me know if you need some screen captures to help you with this process.

I think it is pretty outrageous to cut-off support when the documentation provided does not address all of the functions of the module.

What do you mean by cutting off support? No one has prevented you from posting items in this forum. Support for Active Profile and Active Messaging is provided directly in these forums until we have our next release, which will include more options for support.

Sorry you are dissatisfied, but I'm not sure why. It appears that we have been answering all of the questions that you have been posting.

Thanks,
Will

By cutting off support, I mean that I can't post a support ticket to get a question answered. Apparently, in order to get 1 year of support, you need to buy he Enterprise edition. To me an Enterprise Edition is something that is scalable to a large company, which I am not. As far as I know, there is nothing that describes the differences in the modules at the point of sale, other than a description of the support levels. Is the difference between the Standard edition and the Professional edition described? My opinion is that the instructions to delete a friend should be explained in the documentation/manual for the module. In my opinion it is not intuitive to have the "delete friend" function under pending requests. I would never think to click on pending requests, unless it was highlighted in red, indicating that there is a pending request. At this point I withdraw my comment about being dissatisfied because I do appreciate that you are making an effort to answer questions. However, I still feel that the manual has room for improvement.

Since my questions have not been answered, I am consolidating them in one spot. 1) Topic: My Profile/Settings Suppose User A knows the name of User B but is not yet a friend of B. How does A find out whether B's profile exists on the web site, if B has set visibility to "private" ? (2) Topic: My Profile/Friends How does a visibility setting of "private" affect the ability of other users to become friends? (3) Topic: My Profile /Deleting Friends The procedure (see below) suggested by Will M. does not solve the problem of deleting friends. I have verified that I have been accepted by these friends. Their names and pictures appear in my "My Friends" module along with a message indicating the correct total number of friends. By clicking on "Pending Requests", I get a window labeled "Managing your friends." The window is empty except for a sentence stating that there are no pending requests. Procedure suggested by Will M 1. Click Pending Requests 2. You will now see a list of your friends. 3. Click the check box next to the name of the friend you wish to delete. 4. Now click the button that says "Delete" (4) Topic: Enterprise Edition Do I have to purchase the Enterprise edition of Active Profile to get answers to items (1) to (3)?

See the feature called "Search". Click the button, enter the users name then click where is says "Search" to the right of the box.
(2) Topic: My Profile/Friends How does a visibility setting of "private" affect the ability of other users to become friends?

It prevents them making a friend request.

(3) Topic: My Profile /Deleting Friends The procedure (see below) suggested by Will M. does not solve the problem of deleting friends. I have verified that I have been accepted by these friends. I don't know how else to say it. Once both parties of have acknowledged then the friend can be deleted. If you give us access to your system I will gladly take a closer look and show you how it works.

As I have mentioned before, there isn't an Enterprise edition yet.

Email would probably be a good idea. Just send an email to any of the email addresses that you have sent us email to before. I know there have been several.
