As a current Active Forums customer let me first Congratulate you on your acquisition of the MyProfile and MyMessages modules from DNNFusion. I commend you and Active Modules for stepping up and taking on the responsibilty of developing and supporting a module that can easily fill the primary role in a DNN social networking website. The future for this module does indeed look promising. I look forward to a more integrated package of Active Forums, Active Profiles and Active Messages.

On a more personal note, I purchased DNN Fusion's MyProfile module on May 19, 2007. Just two months later in July of 2007 DNNFusion released its last update. For the past ten moths I have made due without upgrades and little to no support from DNNFusion. On Oct. 28, 2007 I purchased MyMessages from DNNFusion and have received no upgrades or support from DNNFusion since then.

I know that you  are not responsible for DNNFusion's past actions/performance but I must ask, how will you treat the current owners of these modules that may not had any updates or support for almost eleven months now?

Ramon,
There are quite few customers, just like yourself, that are disappointed with the lack of updates and support over the past year. Obviously we can't go back and change what has happened. We fully expected that it would take us some time to earn the trust of the current customer base. What we can do is prove that we are fully committed to the products by offering support, releasing updates and adding new features.

Early next week you should see a minor update for Active Messaging. This will include a couple bug fixes, a few minor changes to the user interface and updated documentation. This will be a free update to for all customers of MyMessages.

We would like to have a minor update for Active Profile as well. The good news is that we are not aware of any bugs with the application. We have a very long list features, enhancements and usability improvements that we plan on implementing. However, we are still prioritizing all of these items and won't be able to provide exact details until later next week.

Feel free to share any specific features you would like added or problems you would like to see fixed.

Thanks,
Will

This is very good news!!

I notice their forums are gone for these two products.  Do you have the suggestions/bug reports that were posted there?

I don't want to debate usability enhancements vs. bugs..  but there are a few issues I reported in Profile that are a big pain regardless.

Brian,
We did document the bugs that we could find and noticed many of the usability concerns. I will be posting some details about improvements we will be making very shortly. In the meantime, feel free to post in the suggestions forum if there is something specific you would like to point out.

Thanks,
Will

Will,

This should be a good thing. I must admit that I have realtively unimpressed with the MyProfile module. I have, however, been incredibly pleased with the Active Forums module and think that Active Profile can be a huge improvement!

Lance,
Just give us a little time and you will see that this will be a great thing.
