Active Forums vs. DotNetNuke Forums - Displaying Forums on other Tabs

by Will M on 29 Aug 2006 06:10 PM

Recently we have had several people tell us that they chose the DNN Forums over Active Forums because it had the ability to display different forums on other tabs.  Active Forums also has this ability, but takes it one step further.  The ForumViewer is an add-on module for Active Forums that is currently free to Subscription customers.  Setup for the ForumViewer is fairly simple.  Once you have the ForumViewer installed and Active Forums setup, you can add the ForumViewer to any tab.  The ForumViewer does require a little bit of setup.  Below is a screen capture of some of your options:

The FAQ page for Active Forums is using the ForumViewer.  You can see that we have the flexibility to make the ForumViewer look exactly the way we want.  You can also accept the defaults and it will look just like your default forums.  Over the next few days, we will also be using the ForumViewer to make this page look more like an actual blog.
